“I like you better than calculus, and math is the only thing that unites the universe.”

As a woman with high functioning autism, this book means the world to me. I got Stella: while I don’t share many of her characteristics, I understand them so well. Being interested (obsessed) with certain subjects, hating strong smells, always sticking to her routines...add the ability of making-bad-jokes, and you have me!

So apart from the plot, I’m already thrilled to see a love-story about a woman like

What makes a book great? For me, regardless of all the technicalities, a great book would make you "feel" things. I felt the connection with both leads. I laughed with them and symphatized with them. I felt like I have two new friends.
I don’t want just a night or a week or a month with you. I want you all the time. I like you better than calculus, and math is the only thing that unites the universe."
I believe I would have breezed through reading this. It's the one-sitting read type (

This is a quick, cute, and enjoyable read. It tells the story of Stella Lane, an economitrician who struggles with autism. She hires a male escort to help her learn the ways of dating and sexual relationships, but happens to fall in love with him in the process. This books is like a more racy version of The Rosie Project or Elinor Oliphant is Completely Fine.

This book is a lot spicier than my normal reads, but I loved and identified with Stella so much I was okay with it. Definitely a feel good romance.

This book was not at all what I was expecting from the blurb. It was a romance, and I guess its great to have thr voice of an autistic author writing a novel about an autistic protagonist, but, frankly it was way too graphic for my taste- way too many super long, detailed sex scenes, and not enough character or backstory development. Am surprised at how many people seemed to have loved it so much. It was ok, but it read like mediocre erotica. 2 stars, barely.

3.75 stars

I was so close to giving this 4 stars but the ending knocked it down a bit.

What I loved:
•Fake dating trope
•Fanfic like smut straight from the beginning
•Asian characters
•Stella having a STEM PhD
•Michael taking care of his family
•The Pretty Woman vibes
•Stella's autism not being one and done footnote

What I disliked
•Phillip annoyed me
•No true resolution to Michael's demons
•What happens to Stella's money at the end

Shelves: easy-reading, romance
I really enjoyed this book. It was an unexpected storyline, and I appreciated the adult sex scenes sprinkled in. Someone else mentioned in their reviews the fact that consent was wove in all the pages and I noticed that as well. After reading Roxanne Gay's "Bad Feminist" and her notes about 50 shades trilogy, and lack of consent and dominating main character, it was nice to see something I could apply to my life.

Fun, sizzling, sexy, fluffy summer read.
The 5 star rating may change (don't know if it will hold up to being a remaining favourite) but for now this gets 5 stars because it was a good feel and easy read and my brain didn't have to work to think and rethink through plot, characters, storyline, etc.
It's a good one. Pick it up if you want to read something light and non violent and easy.

This was such a treat! The perfect balmy read for when I was trying to get back into reading after a bout of flu, I zipped right through it in a day. I loved the representation of autism in a female character (as autism portrayal is often restricted to young white men), and the romance was SO HOT. If you liked The Flatshare (my favourite book of last year), definitely give this one a go.
