I am having such a hard time rating this book. I loved Zadie Smith's prose but at times I felt the plot moved along too slowly for me. I was swept away at the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed the end, but towards the middle I found myself easily distracted from the story line. My mind at times wandered instead to grocery lists and carpooling.
