Who was this woman and why is she immortal? These are the questions I thought of when I saw this book. Thanks to an author who refused to give up we now know just who Mrs. Lacks was and how very important she is to science and the human race. As the story unfolds we find a young woman who had cervical cancer from which she died in 1951. But because of her cancerous cells, which are still alive, multiplying and used in science research we have the polio vaccine among other drugs. The author spen ...more

Thankful November Book Challenge 2021

This was an incredible story of how one woman changed the course of history and how her and her family have been wronged for so many years.

I’m very conflicted about how I feel about I feel about this book.
