What a beautiful, moving book. I was very sceptical at first about the writer's tool of a pilgrimage, thinking it might turn out far-fetched, but it was a great way of depicting the journey of an ordinary man, not only to himself but also to his wife of 40odd years.
Spoiler Alert!!
It was very moving to find out more about himself and his family and the main tragedy of their life, the loss of their son. The book is at times funny, moving and heart-breaking. I will definitely read this one again s
