I will raise my children on this. I will praise this essay to the skies and talk it up to my best of friends and family, and strangers alike. I dislike that the term feminist is in the title because of society. Will someone glance at this with disdain because there go the feminists pushing their ideals again?! Dear Ijeawele, is a good half hour read more than well worth the time. It's a good reread. A little guideline with some gently said Key Ideas About Feminism. A book to read for mothers, fathers, and teachers of both girls and boys - and for anyone. Although it was inspired and written as a little how-to for the author's friend raising a girl it is an accessible manifesto for any of us. ...more
