Wonderful novel that holds meaning, value, and truth. It touches on so many American issues, lightly but very effectively; race, gender, stereotypes, immigration, poverty, illegal money, drugs, domestic abuse, police treatment, family, and bullying. Zoboi tackles the complexity of each situation, character, and stereotype. It is also very rich with the Haitian religion, Vodou, and the main character gives a wonderful example of morality and bravery.

Read it in one sitting. And I still can’t stop thinking about it the next day. Definitely going to be one I reread a few times!
