I read this book for my hometown book club. This book is an easy, smooth read. I've been wanting to read a book by Jhumpa Lahiri for a long time and I'm glad the opportunity finally arised. I now have put all the other books that my library has by her on hold.

This writer is fast becoming one of my favourite contemporary writers. You would never believe she is not a wise old lady, who lived through wars and catastrophes. She is not, she is young, a mother with a job but writes really the most insightful books. Also, interestingly she always a male main character to make her points, but is equally able to put across the female view. Brilliant writing skills and beautiful language.
