What Members Thought
[contains some spoilers for a few stories, read at your own discretion]
I actually really enjoyed this collection of stories, with the exception of ‘A Choice of Accommodations.’ In many ways, I was reminded of The Namesake in that most of the stories left me feeling many different emotions, sometimes leading to internal conflict or longing or nostalgia.

I want to say these stories made me feel a sense of loss, longing, etc but I don’t know if that’s what it is or if I tend to just feel this way with writing by desi authors in general.
I was put off by the number of white characters (I mean, are they really necessary? What do they add that POC characters cannot?) and the never-ending paragraphs of descriptors at moments but not enough to discourage me from reading other works by the author.
