You're in a car with a friend when you're stopped by the police. How should you respond and why?
What if you're Black?
What if that unarmed friend is shot and killed by the police officer?
How should you behave around your white friends? Black friends? Should you stay in the city or move to the suburbs? Why?
One piece of privilege that I have as an older white woman is that I don't have to think about these questions. I don't get stopped when I have a taillight out (and I can afford to get that lig ...more

I really enjoyed this book. It made me open my eyes about our society the good and bad. This book was well written about current events. It was relatable. Of course some parts were sad and others made me laugh. The bravery, the family, the community standing and coming together to help each other in a time of need.
I really hope Angie Thomas continues to write.

This book was amazing on audio and I couldn't stop listening to it. It opened my eyes to a very realistic situation and the impact that it could have on so many people. The characters were wonderful in this book and the story was so well told. Everyone needs to read this book.
