Awesome read. This is one of those books that should be required reading for children in high school. Its a story that is relevant of our times. I am so glad it got picked to become a movie

I read this book for a book club on books amino and also for my 2017 around the year in 52 books challenge #8 Read a book written by a person of color. I was hoping to like this book more than I did but I think this book is just over hyped. The writing style was hard to get into. The slang she used in dialog was difficult to read because I wanted to correct her grammar every time the characters spoke.
