This is a YA book which EVERYONE should read and which should be read and talked about all over the world. This book is both shocking, depressing and infuriating and you want to scream "Why is it even possible that both young kids and police officers get into this situation" and why is there not more of an outcry about this. This book was so awesome!! I was happily pleased with Angie Thomas's exquisite writing and beautiful story. I connected on a very personal level with heroine Starr and found myself crying, laughing and rooting for the strong characters till the end. As our world faces these big questions on race this book is a must read. I give The Hate U Give 5 stars and proudly put it in my favorites shelf. ...more
