Was left wanting to know more about Holme's crooked and devious ways, gruesome as they were.
While, the background stories about the people who got the exhibition up and running and how, was captured really well, I would find my mind wandering when it came to those parts.
All in all, a wholesome historical true crime chronicle.
P.S.: I did go searching the worldwideweb for images of locales and buildings mentioned in the book. ...more

A well written thoroughly researched history of the Chicago Fair and the serial killer known as Holmes. Most of the focus concern the events and notable people involved with the planning and execution of an immense undertaking. About 3/4 of the novel deal with the fair and between the pages revert to Holmes and what he is doing while the fair is progressing.
