I definitely liked this book. The writing was decent and there were several underlying themes. Pretty touching and heartfelt. Goes to show the power of love. Lots to love her & lots of feels!

What a wonderful thought provoking historical novel! New York City orphaned children were put on train and sent west to find good Christian homes out west. A pioneer idea at the time (from 1850 into 1930s), the orphan train paved the way for our modern foster care system. Christina Baker Kline gives us a peek of what an orphan child may have experienced then and now. What a great story! A part of history visited that I knew not much about. Was interested in reading this novel after reading "The Chaperone" which spoke of the orphan trains. Highly recommend this book for realistic/historical fiction fans.
