I’m 52% of the way into Bacigalupi’s near-future science fiction novel The Water Knife, and wanted to share some notes for our online reading/book club. (Relevant posts on this blog are tagged waterknife)

This is a dystopian not so implausible Sci-Fi about climate change causing a water crisis that reads like a Western-Shooter-Crime-Thriller. Pros: Once the threads of the 3 main characters finally come together, I couldn't put it down. All three characters were likable and there was enough character development to empathize with and root for them. Cons: The character arcs don't come together until about 40% and though it is a short book that is a long time to get invested. TW for body horror/gore
