Shelves: memoirs, nonfiction, medical, latino

Interesting subject of which I knew little. This story kept me turning pages. I enjoyed the sharing of Hernandez' family history and how that history fueled her research and drive to educate others on this important disease. Many issues come into play and she wove all of these threads together in a sensible manner. Daisy Hernandez makes an excellent point for infant screening for the parasite. ...more
