I love the characters they were believable and stayed true through the book. I thought the story line was very interesting and creative. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the end seemed rushed. The rest of the book was very detailed and seemed to cover everyone's point of view, once you hit 85% mark it races to the end.

All that said I can not wait for October for the next book in the series and I hope I don't have too long of a wait after that for the 3rd.

I've finally decided to continue on with this series, so I needed to read this to remind myself of what happened in the beginning.
I absolutely love Elora just as much as I did years ago. I will say I read some this time and then switched to audio. I was having a hard time with the written version this time around, but once I found it on audio with my library via hoopla, I started realizing why I love the overall story so much the first time I read it.

Love this book! I just read it for the 2nd time and I'm amazed at the details I missed the first time. Ms. Danann has created a universe that is familiar to our own but with just enough differences to keep you turning to the next page. The heroine, once she recovers from her journey is a strong and formidable one who isn't afraid to kick butt and ask questions later. I loved this book the characters were awesome. Its the start of a series that holds so much promise. Elora rocks!! Victoria transports you in to a place where you want to be rooting for both sides because the adventure is that good. I look forward to many more in this series!

This book has action, love, romance, love triangle, suspense, and comedy all rolled into it!

I am so glad I picked up the first book in this series for free on Amazon!! I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise. But man once I started, I couldn't put the book down! I have never read any of Victoria Danann books before. I truly enjoyed My Familiar Stranger. The characters made me angry at times,and i have had many laugh out loud moments! The story was very intriguing.Now that i have finished this book. I can not wait to get my hands on the second book! I give this book 5/5 stars!

UPDATE: I am re-reading this series from the beginning as part of a book club and, yeah, this book is still really good. While the main character isn't my favorite, the supporting guys are all so unique and I know they ultimately get their own stories (so I'm excited to keep going... again... for real this time).

To say I was pleasantly suprized by this series would be an understatement. Ms. DANANN surpassed all my expectations with this first story. I was intrigued by the plot of this world created and more than anxious to keep reading.
