In some ways this is the most fun - the cherry on top of the very mixed bag of being an author. Was that a messy metaphor? Oh, yeah. One of the great things about accumulating a little recognition is gaining permission to break some rules.

Like the first two books in the series there is a strong story line, amazing character development and great timing that keeps the story moving at a perfect pace... IF you don't have to put the book down at any point during your day that is! There is action/adventure, love/romance (and some heartbreak), vampires, elves, werewolves and demons (Oh my!) a gorgeous smart and brave dog and a wolf pack. I received A Summoners Tale as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Let me first say how disappointing it is when reading a series and as the books progress they loose focus and direction of all the characters that made you fall in love in the first place. Well, so not the case with Order Of The Black Swan. If at all possible, the series gets better as it goes along. I read this book within 24hrs, just couldn't put it down. This series is far more than the total sum of its words. This is a breathtaking cannot put it down even if it is 3:00 am epic adventure.

This is the 3rd book in Victoria's Black Swan Series, so I first recommend you read My Familiar Stranger and A Witches Dream before you start on this one! ;)
This book is just as great as the others! It was so nice to learn more about Baka and his history. Baka definitely waited for his chance with his soul mate, Heaven! Cant really say much more, except it's a must read! & enjoy! ;) ...more

This is Baka's story; but all our favorite characters from the first 2 novels are there as well along with some new ones that you will come to love. Do you think souls can find each other across time? This is the core of the book...what happens when Baka and his new assistant Heaven McBride cross paths and as the book progresses find the answer to the question.

This was my favourite of the books so far.
Really sexy and exciting, I read it in two days.
The way the characters have developed into their own lives, but at a moments notice, they all pull together again.
Cant wait for book 4

This series just pulls you in you wait patiently for each book while in side ur wanting to scream because the wait is killing you. A Summoner's Tale is one of those books you have to read. Then once you read it you wish it didn't end.I did not know what a summoner was. Was Excited to find out what that entailed Victoria never ceases to amaze me with her books . I received an ARC of The Summoner's Tale by Victoria Danann in exchange for a honest review and loved it! It is the third book in the Order of the Black Swan Series and it doesn't disappoint! You really do need to read the books in order. I absolutely adored the first book, My Familiar Stranger; the second book- The Witch's Dream, not as much. But Ms. Danann is back on track in the third installment! I loved learning more about Baka and getting to know all of my favorite characters even better. ...more

First, I would like to say that I love Black Swan series so far! I highly recommend this series!!! Victoria does such a great job with character development that I feel like some of her characters are my friends; they laugh and I laugh; when they worry I worry. Writing from several different perspectives in one book is not an easy task and Victoria pulls it off.

I read the first two books in this series and was really looking forward to Baka finally getting his own book. Maybe my assumption that this book was going to be his story led me to have some unrealistic expectations. I read the first two books in this series and was really looking forward to Baka finally getting his own book. Maybe my assumption that this book was going to be his story led me to have some unrealistic expectations. To me, this book read more like a continuation of Elora and Ram's love story and had Baka pushed to a background story.

The story does, however, start with Baka. He is still a cured vampire (so not quite human), and is working with a beautiful but frigid research companion named Heaven. Most of his time is being spent obsessing over Heaven's chilly demeanor and devising ways to crack through her shell. A wrench is thrown into his plans, though, when he sets out on a rogue mission to save some vampire only to be captured. Since he told no one of his plan, he's essentially on his own. When he doesn't show up to work, Heaven begins to worry and ends up doing some research on Baka while waiting for them to open an inquiry to his absence. The research she does on him ends up revealing that he met or interacted with just about ever famous artist or thinker of his time (really?).

While that story is going on, we end up flip-flopping back and forth to Elora's story. She's super pregnant but still determined to be independent. While Ram is working on their future house, she works on befriending wolves (for some reason). Also while this is going on, the inhabitants of Elora's old dimension send some assassins to kill her (for some reason). They believe they are somehow preventing any more evil from her line, even though it seems like *a lot* of work just to maybe, sort of, somehow, prevent her from ever, possibly, going back to their dimension, and, somehow, ruling them with an iron fist (or something). The rationale was a little bit confusing, but it led them to injure her while she is all alone in the woods. She defends herself, but ends up injured and suddenly going into labor. The wolves take care of her (of course), but this leads to some really crazy searching when she doesn't come home.

There is a lot of fun action when the team comes back together and many revelations along the way when the team is confronted with their future plans. Also, we dive back into the Heaven/Baka story to be shows some even more shocking revelations. I had some trouble with the romance here (which was probably due to the "fated mates" type scenario). Either way, there was still some steaminess that is well suited to Baka's story.

I have to say that while I enjoyed the first two books, this one is not my favorite. I had some high hopes for the vampire's story and was instead given a very detailed birthing story and some history tales (with a vampire story peppered here and there). I'm hoping the next one will give me back the excitement that the first part of the series had. ...more
