Thank you to whoever in the Book club nominated this book! Once again, it was a book that I had never heard about and, considering the setting, would NEVER have chosen to read on my own.
The setting is the garbage dump in Phnom Penh (?), Cambodia, where dozens of people live!! They exist by picking through the garbage to find useable items to sell and buy food, clothing and shelter for their families. They actually pay rent on shacks within the dump just to have a place to live!
