Crecí viendo a Harry Potter, leí este libro por primera vez cuando tenía diez años, y la saga ya tenía sus años de ser publicada.
Cuando Harry habla con Dumbledore se me aprieta el corazón. Es un libro hermoso, lleno de aventuras inesperadas que me encantan. Lo amé ❤️

At first I didn't want to read this. And then I read it and fell in love! J. K. Rowling is a genius!

So, the more in depth story of how I came across this series....I thank my parents for giving me this book (tho they soon regretted it months later when I refused to read another book series for a solid two years). I was really bored one day, sometime when I was nine, and then my parents gave me this big book (well, bigger than anything I had read before) at a *gasp* 223 pages. Before this At first I didn't want to read this. And then I read it and fell in love! J. K. Rowling is a genius!

I was really bored one day, sometime when I was nine, and then my parents gave me this big book (well, bigger than anything I had read before) at a *gasp* 223 pages. Before this, I had read Little House in the Woods and Magic Tree House. I was not a huge reader. And then...this. This masterpiece.

This book begins with this strange old man with cowboy boots, a beard, and a mobile lightswitch giving this bratty family in their stupid perfect house a baby boy. I hated that first chapter, tbh. Why in the world do I want to read about how people are terrible for ten pages? Now, I have no problem with slow burn beginnings like that. But at the tender age of nine? It was terrible. So...that's fun. I finished reading the first chapter and immediately skipped to the (view spoiler) chapter. Then I was hooked. When I read the ending. After that I read the entire book, all the way through, and fell in love.

Characters:
Harry- choosen one, famous, blah, blah, blah. My favorite part was that he had zero self confidence, which is really great because that's realistic. As a character, Harry was compelling, unique, full of flaws, and he only gets even more complex throughout the series.
Ron- Redhead mess. He has so many older siblings, is basically Harry's complete opposite, which makes them amazing friends. I love Ron. (shout-out to his twin brothers, Gred and Forge).
Hermione- as a girl (and even now as a young lady) I looked up to Hermione so much. Even hen Harry and Ron hated her, I couldn't, because she reminded me of myself. This is probably what fueled my obsession, tbh...

Plot:
I loved how there were so many little clues throughout the book to lead to one spectacular fight scene at the end, along with a big reveal. I will admit, sometimes when I reread this I skip the middle parts because it has a lot of Harry doing well, Harry doing well again, Harry not getting caught sneaking out for the millionth time. But I can appreciate that for what it is.

Writing Style:
Her style gets better with time, but JK Rowling's voice was still strong throughout the whole book.
