My first book by Carian Cole and I loved it! Slow burn with delicious sexual tension and a forbidden romance. It hit all my buttons!

Shelves: worst-books-ever, dnf, taboo, audio, 2022

I went into this book not knowing anything about it. I dnf’d at 80% because I couldn’t take it anymore. I did listen to the audio book so take that into effect as well. The narration wasn’t great. So this is an age gap, taboo book. Age gaps don’t bother me, if they’re done good. This one was not. The hero was in his early 30’s & the “heroine” was 17. He was also her godfather & best friends with her parents. Throughout the whole book you see flashbacks of how this guy literally raised this girl. ...more

Steamy first love with May/December tone

Writer did a fine job of navigating out of a potentially creepy sitch. Would have loved a little more explanation on the epilogue as well! Totally detested the last two chapters... hence the lower rating... just didn't make sense for the length of time. ...more
