I'm rounding up about half a star.

I enjoyed this book in spite of a few things that irked me.

What I liked: the POV character's voice and sense of humor; that character's best friend; the pacing; the emotional authenticity. What irked me: first, the portrayal of a young debut author's apparently-sizable advance and book tour as if such things weren't approaching unicorn status, and the suggestion that the same rosy fate might be in store for another character's book. It means for me that book is just okay nothing more nothing less. But in this case I want to explain myself and the three stars I gave the book. When I finished the book I didn't know how to rate it. At first, I gave it four then I changed it to three and I will explain why. I liked the book. It was easy to read, I liked the plot, of course there was a lot of drama( but well teens...so ). I was hooked, I wanted to know what would happen wi I don't really write reviews for the books I rate three. It means for me that book is just okay nothing more nothing less. But in this case I want to explain myself and the three stars I gave the book. When I finished the book I didn't know how to rate it. At first, I gave it four then I changed it to three and I will explain why. I liked the book. It was easy to read, I liked the plot, of course there was a lot of drama( but well teens...so ). I was hooked, I wanted to know what would happen with Tanner and Sebastian, will they be together? who would make the sacrifice or maybe they would meet up after years when they are grown and know what they truly want. This says that the book has emotional depth for me.
But cheating! It's not as if cheating is a big trigger for me. But in this situation it was different. So Tanner was heartbroken and sad and hurting, he goes to Autumn for emotional comfort and they end up kissing and having sex. If it was only that I could understand really. If he could feel remorse for what he did. And he did feel remorse but only because he did it with his best friend, not because of cheating on Sebastian. And I know Sebastian broke up with him THAT day but still. Yeah, he told Sebastian and apologized to him but it felt just like as if he didn't want to keep secret from him, not because he felt remorse for what he did. And Sebastian is all like 'I guess I cant be angry because I broke up with you'. Really? I mean REALLY? Tanner was all 'I love you! you are my word!' and the minute (the day) Sebastian brokes up with him he is having sex with some girl? This is his BIG love? And Sebastian forgives him because its kind of his fault? Just imagine your boyfriend that you met only couple of months ago asks you to forget everything you knew your whole life, the family that you love, the path you know and like, your future plans, change everything just to be with him. I am sorry if I freak out a little there! And HE is hurting? Riiiight!
I got so angry writing it that I think I will change the rating to 2 stars. ...more
