I had no desire to listen.
I do not like first person books (although there are a few exceptions) and this first person was not for me. Many readers liked this, so it’s a personal preference thing.
I listened to the first third and the last hour. Things might be different in the middle, but from the parts I heard, it was too much telling, not enough showing. I have this book in hardback and in digital and borrowed the audio version from the library. I've read it several times and I can't believe I've never actually put it on my Goodreads to-read, have-read, and now have-listened-to lists nor have I reviewed it. Ah well. First Grave on the Right is an excellent debut novel for Golden Heart-winning author, Darynda Jones. She's gone on to write more award-winning books in this series. I'm not quite sure what rock I was living under at the time it was released but I managed to miss it. I've now gone back to make up for lost time. It was fun. I had quibbles with this (which have itemized pretty thoroughly in GR reviews) but overall I loved the heroine & all the characters and will probably check out the next book.
