Cori and Dean met when they were children and have been best friends ever since. Through good times and bad, relationships with others and on. Dean is about to turn 30 and his best friend Cori tells him that she's looking for a relationship because she wants to have a baby. He expects her to ask him, but she shocks him by telling him she's going to go online to find love.

This shouldn't bother Dean. He's happy being the guy who has openly superficial relationships, where he never brings a woman t Cori and Dean met when they were children and have been best friends ever since. This shouldn't bother Dean. He's happy being the guy who has openly superficial relationships, where he never brings a woman to his house and they both move on when (her) feelings start to change. But as Cori starts to date, Dean's overprotectiveness kicks in... but is that really what it is?

After one night, things change between these two life long best friends. To the point that Cori decides she can no longer be in Dean's life, which makes Dean miserable. Will he get out of his own way and tell Cori how he really feels... only after he digs deep and learns what he's really feeling himself.

I really wanted to like this story. I love that these two knew everything about each other. And were so in sync that friends and family were giving off hints of what neither of them seemed to see. That they were meant for each other from day one. I loved that they were an interracial couple, but it's just a comment to describe what each look like based on heritage.

That being said, it was a little slow in pacing for me. Its supposed to be a Rom-Com, but I think I laughed at something that happened, once. Also, one thing kept bugging me throughout the book was that the narrator kept mispronouncing words. I don't know if it's an east coast thing verses west coast. I've never heard words like "cacophony" or "myriad" pronounced the way the narrator did. I kept having to look at the book to figure out what he was trying to say because I didn't understand the words the way they was spoken. Unfortunately those weren't the only two words. It would come up randomly and therefore I would have to stop and figure out what he was really trying to say.

The only reason I am giving this book as many stars as I am is because this author incorporated my new favorite form of narration. Though the guy narrates and speaks through the entire book, whenever a female speaks dialogue, it's spoken from a female narrator. LOVE THIS. This is only the second book that I've listened to that does it, the first being Challenge by Amy Daws (which is a fabulous Rom-Com), and I'm loving it.
