I have been wanting to read Penelope Ward for a while now, I finally picked up RoomHate and wow, I was completely blown away. This book was one hell of an emotional roller coaster, once I started, I couldn't put it down. I completely fell in love with the character. Each turn of the page brought more drama and excitement. I loved Justin and Amelia's characters, I really felt there's a lot of women in the world who can relate to Amelia's situation. And of course Justin has just became my new book ...more

Wow. I’m really kicking myself right now. When I first heard about Roomhate, I was dying to read it. I mean, counting down the days, hours and minutes until it was released. But life (and other books) got in the way, not to mention a friend (who’s uber picky) started it, and didn’t enjoy it, consequently making me hesitate on picking it up. But now I’m kicking myself because it was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t put it down…and that’s even more amazing since just prior to starting it (on a whim) ...more

5 BEAutiful Bumblebee Stars!

These past books I've been reading seemed to have a common thread, so when I read the blurb for this, I thought it would be different. And it was, and it wasn't.
It wasn't different in the sense that there's unrequited love.
But mostly this was different than the other books I've read. I couldn't pinpoint what exactly. This was quite a mature book, dealing with very adult issues. The MCs themselves, Justin Banks and Amelia Payne, were very mature despite their age. I lo ...more

I'm all over the place when it comes to books by this author! Some I really enjoy, others not so much. "RoomHate" falls in the "not so much" category, unfortunately. I didn't much like Amelia or Justin at all. Justin was pretty awful for what (to me) was no good reason and Amelia came across as kind of wimpy. Her reason for leaving him when they were younger was lame and I couldn't figure out why they were attracted to each other as adults. Kind of disappointing all around! ...more
