The writing was so well done that I was sucked in from the very first page. Nora is on the cusp of turning 18 and getting ready to graduate high school, before starting college. She has crush on this cute guy at school and wants him to ask her out. It's totally physical because she wonders if she would actually like him as person. He asks her out, but before any of that happens she catches the eye of a man that she feels both fear and attraction to.

I just finished this book and I am dying to have more of Julian. What a amazing ride this book was. I would not call this a dark read only captivating and mysterious. Julian is such and enigma and yet I felt just like Nora , I was drawn into his spell and he always left me wanting more.

I LOVED this. I've been really in the mood for a nice Dark light read and this book really hit the spot for me.
Nora and Julian's relationship is a hot mess, but I love them. I wish we had more of Julian's backstory. I'm really looking forward to the next books with J's POV. ...more

I am not a fan of books about kidnapping but this book is told from the captors POV. What I like that she still holds On to herself. Yet she is completely falling in love with him or did he train her to. She questions herself and tries to hold onto her humanity. How can she when she is so isolated
And dependent. Yet she tries. Jillian is so complex that it is hard to hate him. Such a compelling book
