Fun book! It's two books in one, both about a quest to steal a sword that gets complicated. Royce and Hadrian are good co-leads anchoring a pretty standard but good building epic fantasy tale told across the two adventures. There are all the things you might expect, plus some good shakeups about gods, dwarves, and elves. I bet the story just gets better and better in the series.

I must have had these individual books on my Kindle for a while, picked up back when they were still independently published, but didn't begin reading this series until last weekend when my family and I went on a road trip and decided to listen an audiobook in the car to while away the hours. Now that they've been republished in collections by Orbit, Audible had these books available as well.

This was a super fun fantasy that immediately sucked me in. I do tend to enjoy the classic trope of characters having to get themselves out of trouble, so I figured I'd enjoy this. Hadrian and Royce were a great duo and I'm looking forward to continuing their journey in the next book.
