This was fun! It was a plot-forward fantasy adventure story, and even though we've seen many of these plots before in different configurations, I think because I haven't read a lot of plotty adventure fantasy in the past several years, it felt fresh to me. Also, it's just a really well done version of this type of story. I will definitely be continuing in the series.

This book was a lot of fun -- adventure, intrigue, elves, all the stuff you want in epic fantasy. The weakest bit is that in these opening books I can't really tell the two main characters apart, but I hope this gets more developed.

This book was a fun romp! I loved the main characters a lot. A great duo. May have actually shipped them a tiny bit. (Or a lot bit.) Myron was my favorite, delightful and innocent and I just wanted to be his best friend. I finished book one and liked it. I'll start book 2 eventually.
