This book has me very confused. I love the second and third books, (Unravel Me and Ignite Me) and clearly it was good enough to make me want to read the rest of the trilogy. But looking back, and compared to the other books in this trilogy, this book was sadly disappointing. Though I enjoyed the setting, I thought the characters in book 2 and 3 had much more character development, and we're much more likable. This book should have been so much better, because looking through these reviews, I see This book has me very confused. Which is a shame because believe me it gets MUCH better.

This book is written in a Dystopian setting, and has some very interesting (and totally unrealistic) ideas about the future. Juliette is a 16 year old girl who has been in an insane asylum for a very long time, because she can kill people with her touch. Then after way too long that put another person in her cell, a boy named Adam. This whole book is full of Psychos and is honestly-looking back on it- lacking characters and story line. But don't let that scare you away, I loved this book it's just that the other books are SO much better.

I bought this book and re-read it about every 4-10 months, and still enjoy it every time. But I am team Warner so this book is quite depressing, when all you want is for Warner to become yours, and Juliette doesn't even see how wonderful and crazy he is. I wish Juliette wasn't so weak and ridiculous, she spends almost two whole books thinking she is weak and has no other power than killing people when she touches them. I think this book was very poetic and intriguing, but I wish Juliette was a better character. To me she is the Tris of this book, and I don't like Tris or Juliette. This book is worth reading only to figure out who Warner, Kenji, Adam, and James really are. If you don't like this book I urge you to read the 2nd and 3rd books anyway, they are SO worth it.

Even with all of the disappointment of this book, it is still one of my favorite series, and Warner is still one of my favorite male characters so far. I recommend this to people who are willing to read this just to get to the good part, because the good part is worth 300 pages of your life lost. I still adore this book and hope that my review and other reviews don't scare you off. Just remember the other books are MUCH better.

One of my all time favorite books! I absolutely loved the story and the love between Adam and Juliette. Why I loved this so much is because the storyline is quite different from other books which is nice.

iyaa saya sebel banget sama buku 1 ini,,, tapi selanjutnya malah kepelet abis2an! buat yg suka romens,, bisa lah anda bertahan di buku 1,, trs lanjut ke buku ke dua.. apalagi ke 3.. not bad tho (for me) XDDDDDDDDDDDD

My all time favorite book series, the way Tahereh Mafi writes is so poetic and filled with emotion. I recommend this book for anyone who loves romance, supernatural or just anyone who wants a great book.
