They say a good book makes one live several lives, see places and leaves you rich with lingering experiences, and it couldn't be truer with Khaled Hosseini's Thousand Splendid Suns. When I picked this much acclaimed book, must say that I was under the preconceived notion, that this cannot be as good as Kite Runner, nevertheless I was wrong.

A Thousand Splendid Suns: With thousands of emotions spread across, as the name suggests it, this story is trying to deliver a peek view to the conditions of Afghanistan and the plight of its women and children and what the Taliban war has done to them. It also compares what was there before. It captures the 30 year war history from 1970s to 2000s as seen from a poor commoner who has no access to what is happening in the world and hasn't traveled more than 2 KM from her house.
