Are there suitable words to describe the perfection of this book?

I honestly don't think so.

I've read it six times, and it can't cease to amaze me.

It still makes me cry like the first time I've read it, I'm just as surprised when Sirius explains himself, I'm just... bewitched.

The third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has been, is, and will always be my favourite Harry Potter book. I can't explain it.

It was the first Harry Potter book I've read, and the first book ever that caught my attention. And it caught my everything, and I've been hooked on Harry ever since.

It's beyond me to understand how Queen JK Rowling's mind works, because it has me hooked even after reading it SIX TIMES, four times in my native language, and twice in English. And it's so beautiful, God, I want to jump into that book the way Harry was drawn into Tom Riddle's diary in second year at Hogwarts.

This year is, obviously, full of adventure, full of happiness, and sadness, good and bad moments, full of laughter and tears.

It starts differently, with a Harry pushed over his limits by his obnoxious Aunt, and he decides to go by himself and live the rest of the summer alone. He is scared by a big, black dog, and rescued by the wizard's bus, The Knight Bus, and taken safely to The Leaky Cauldron, where he finds out not only that he is not punished by doing magic outside school, but also encouraged and protected there. He lives beautifully for a few weeks, alone, happy, doing what he pleased, and we can see a carefree Harry, where he hasn't have to fight everything and everything, saving people he needn't save, fighting battles over his young self. He is just a thirteen year old boy, enjoying himself away from a bullying family.

He is happy to return to Hogwarts, but there he is welcomed with a warning that his death might be near, by Professor Trelawney, left aside by Lupin, who made him think he was weak, and threatened by the presence of the Dementors, who troubled him more than other people. He had been through enough, through a lot of problems for his age, but he manages that wonderfully, better than adults. He is still kind, friendly, has good manners, and he can take care of himself. He is admirable, really.

Then he has some moments of happiness, he wins the Quidditch Cup, he finds out the truth about Sirius, and he is so happy to have been invited to live with him, and only the thought of having someone like him to teach and guide him overwhelms him, and makes him go over the top, but obviously, since he is, in fact, The Harry Potter or The Chosen One he can't have that, so he ends up pretty much again in Durlsey's home.

And as a side note, I think the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie is the best of them, and Daniel Radcliffe is the best Harry ever in that movie (but he is the perfect Harry all the time).

I'll read this book over and over all my life, more than the rest of the series, because

Review 3: Estou a adorar uma vez mais rever toda esta série, que sem dúvidas é a minha preferida em termos literários.
Este 3º volume para mim é dos mais empolgantes, nada é o que parece ser, e as reviravoltas no final são de tirar o fôlego a qualquer um.
Agora depois de saber toda a história é mais fácil perceber "pistas" que a autora nos deixa ao longo de todo o livro que nos poderiam encaminhar para descobrirmos antes mas que estão tão bem escondidas que é quase impossível para quem está a le ...more
