What Members Thought
Quite exceptional, subtle human drama. The strangeness of the book was striking from the beginning to the end. I think that's what made this book so engaging. The book puts the reader, sort of, in a vantage point on class, culture, and dignity on pre/post world war's England. I'm not sure any movie could do justice to the raw humanness expressed through the author's words.
