What Members Thought
This is the second book by the author that I have read. Had found the first one "never let me go", extraordinary. This one is a sweet chronicle of a butler's life. It gives a different perspective. The movie had raised my expectations regarding the depth of narrative but was a bit disappointed. There are stretches of inanity, though these also render a slow, steady pace to the novel, quite suitable to the era which it is based in.
