My next stop in the Sparks marathon was one of many books where a movie adaptation was made. And this was I liked it better despite it being a rehash of the same formula of a small town which Sparks seems to be most comfortable in. Okay, so I saw this film before I read the book and tbh I wasn't ever going to read the book.
My mom wanted to read this book but our library only had it in English so I bought a nook version to read it alongside her so I could help her out with the language barrier.

This is one of my favorite books. Nicholas Sparks wrote this so beautifully that I feel like I know the characters really well and I can feel and relate to John and Savannah's relationship. I love the characters and the story not only focuses on John and Savannah's relationship, but also on John's other relationship in life with his father. I would definitely recommend this book. This was my least favorite Sparks book so far. I rarely read "romantic" stories, but I have a soft spot for his books because they take place in North Carolina, my old home state. I expected a lot more from this book, based on the others I've read, but it just didn't deliver for me. Something about the story line felt, I'm not sure sure...rushed, maybe?
