If you've never heard of the Weird West genre, don’t feel too disconnected. I had no idea such a thing existed until I picked up Dead Man’s Hand – Anthology of the Weird West edited by John Joseph Adams.
So what makes a Weird Western, weird? The short answer is you take your standard Western setting and toss in a speculative genre–fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, or horror. The skill is in the blending.

I loved this book.
Most of the stories I found interesting and unique. I have been a Weird West fan before it was a "Thing". Steampunk is a fairly new territory for me but I have already found some good books from that Genre.
If you like the Wild West.. read this. If you like Steampunk... read this. If you like horror and sci-fi... read this. If you like weird... read this.

Okay, to be fair, I didn't read all of the stories here. I went through my favorite authors, and read 2/3rds of the remaining authors present. Being this is in audiobook format, I have the rest of them on my phone to be listened to when I need a short read. That said, I have seen enough of the book to give a faithful review.

This was a decent collection of Weird Western Fiction, though some of the stories (including the eponymous one) were not as "weird" as I'd like, and contained very few speculative elements. Still, the majority of the stories worked well, and it was nice to see a few familiar faces again for one more ride.
