I don't understand how this book hit the best seller list.... I've read things where I didn't love them but I knew how someone else would, but this book was full of cliches. The Greek mythology and history was shallow and handled lightly instead of feeling weighty like WWIII and gods and the search for your parents and the death of loved ones should be. Percy Jackson just seems to take it for granted that he's awesome and a hero and he doesn't have to learn anything. Even for a kids story it fel ...more
