This is a beautifully written account of the story of Achilles from the point-of-view of his "sworn companion", Patroclus. Miller's writing is clean and fresh with unexpected phrases and flourishes. You don't have to be familiar with Greek mythology or the Iliad to enjoy this story of two men, who meet as boys, become the best of friends and then fall in love. Miller has the gift of finding the truth of human motives and actions. A lovely read.
