I don’t think I can ever write a review that will do justice to the perfection that is Clockwork Princess so the best I can do is try to form into words all the feelings that I have for this book.

“One must always be careful of books and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”

I LOVE this series!! I think these are the best of Cassandra Clare’s books. And this book was AWESOME--just like the first 2. I can’t stop thinking about it!! But, I might give it a 4.5, if I could, just because the ending was a little too drawn out and there were a few too many character POV’s and romantic subplots--and a few other picky things (mostly editing issues where people said things that didn’t make sense (view spoiler) I LOVE this series!! I think these are the best of Cassandra Clare’s books. And this book was AWESOME--just like the first 2. I can’t stop thinking about it!! But, I might give it a 4.5, if I could, just because the ending was a little too drawn out and there were a few too many character POV’s and romantic subplots--and a few other picky things (mostly editing issues where people said things that didn’t make sense (view spoiler)), but otherwise this was a FANTASTIC series finale--everything I had hoped for and more!! A lot of it was unspeakably sad and bittersweet, though--some gut-wrenching developments that made my heart hurt ((view spoiler)). I also found parts of the epilogue really hard to take ((view spoiler)).

This book was very unpredictable! The only thing I wasn’t too surprised about was that (view spoiler). Maybe we’ll learn more in CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE? I really love the way these two series dovetail on a lot of things--and I’m so glad I’ve read the books as they’ve been released so I could guess at and wonder about things that have happened in each book and see how they all fit together. So fun and awesome!!

I think it’s fantastic how Cassandra (view spoiler)! Yay!! And, though there really were too many character POV’s, I did enjoy the peeks into their lives/thoughts/feelings and seeing the cool connections with the Mortal Instruments series--I really liked ALL of the people at the Institute--all of the “good” guys were wonderful!! And, as always, I LOVE the dialogue between the characters and the funny conversations and light moments that temper the more intense, nail-biting action. The action was awesome in this book, too, with some very scary, “what will they do?!” moments. And, of course, the romance was beyond swoon-worthy!! (I also really liked the genealogy chart inside the cover, though it was spoilerish (don’t look at it before you read the book!!) and I wish it would have included Charlotte & Henry…)

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the entire series!! I’m SO sad it’s over :( Loved, loved, LOVED it!!!!

Clockwork Princess was a book written with the aim to please everyone and the result was a weak resolution to the love triangle, scenes that dragged endlessly, and a very depressing end.

Many will disagree with me on how Cassandra handled the love triangle. Tessa never had to make the hard decision, she ended up with both Will and Jem. But the point of a love triangle is the angst and Sort of disappointing. That is what happens when you try to please everyone. Review to come.

Many will disagree with me on how Cassandra handled the love triangle. Tessa never had to make the hard decision, she ended up with both Will and Jem. But the point of a love triangle is the angst and ultimately the heroine makes a choice. I felt cheated that didn't happen. Cassandra removed Jem from the picture in the 19th century so Tessa could be with Will. And later on, in the 21st, Jem comes back and Tessa can be with him after Will was long gone. That was a cop out solution and I wasn't really happy with it.

I think the only person who got a true happy ending was Will. He got to marry Tessa and live a happy life with her until he died of old age. I confess that I cried my eyes out when Tessa described his death. It was so emotional and honestly the best part of the book, even if it was extremely sad.

Jem, poor Jem. He had to live 130 as a Silent Brother, cut off from everyone he loved. When somehow someone finally finds a cure for him, everyone that he knows is dead, besides Tessa. I would have preferred if he had died to be reincarnated later. It would be more humane. Cassandra only kept him alive so he could be there for Tessa in the 21st century.

Tessa got the worst of it. She had to witness Will die and then live a lonely life for almost a hundred years because she refused to watch everyone she loved die. Then she got together with Jem only to witness him die too. And we know that after Jem, there will be no one else for her. Unless she gets together with Magnus after Alex dies.

The other characters were absolutely great. More often than not, I find the side characters to be more interesting than the main characters. I wish I could see more of Cecily and Gabriel's relationship, they were my favorite couple.

Wow... I'm still in shock and even though I would just like to pour my heart out, I think I can't even form a proper sentence right now. All I can say is that I really, really loved this book -- it truly is the best one in The Infernal Devices trilogy. It was heartbreaking, sad, touching, exciting and breathtaking. It was all I had hoped for the last book in this amazing trilogy to be. In my opinion, Cassandra Clare has outdone herself with this book. With every book of her I'd read, she had bec Wow... I think I was only 200 pages in when I had felt like wanting to cry constantly. The most astonishing, the most fascinating part is that death wasn't even the hardest thing to bear in Clockwork Princess -- it was losing someone you love, it was saying goodbye, saying farewell.

And that is exactly what I, as a reader, had to do as well. Reading the last book of a series you loved so much like I love The Infernal Devices -- and I think each fan of these books agrees with me completely - is hard. You know that this is the last time you'll read something new about these characters you'd grown to love so much. It's like saying goodbye to them, to these wonderful books. And saying goodbye was the hardest in this book.

All the questions I had were answered. The trilogy came to an epic conclusion and it wasn't even the last battle against Mortmain that took my breath away the most, it was all these moments when they had to say goodbye, when they had to let go of the ones they loved most.
I had never expected the epilogue to be like this. It was bittersweet -- it was a sad and a wonderful ending as well. It saddened me, yet it made me happy both at the same time because it was about loss again as well as a new beginning. I wouldn't have expected the book to end like this and I'm glad it did. What I also loved was the family treen on the inside of the book's cover. Now Cassie is even making family trees of her Shadowhunter families. I feel like her Shadowhunter world has grown more and more with each of her books and I love to be in it so much. I can't wait to learn more about it. And I'm very thankful to Cassie for writing these amazing books.

This review turned out to be way more sentimental than I'd wanted it to be, though right now, just after reading the last few pages, I couldn't help it. ...more

I loved this book as it concluded the IDS Series. It took me a while to get through as did the previous two books before it. This is mainly because the chapters are lengthly and there were alot of different plots and character's stories to tell. I admit I shed tears of happiness towards they end and tears of sadness as well. The big love triangle between Wiil, Jem, amd Tessa wasn't an issue because I could've been happy with who ever she chose because I loved them both equally. Where as in Tiger ...more

I've died and went to heaven. I have cried many times and now since I have finished this, I will recommend it to someone. The ending was unexpected, especially the epilogue but I loved it nonetheless. This series should has won favor in my heart.

If I forget the story, I will come back to it and relive the adventure.
