The world Marissa Meyer built was great. The story is set in New Beijing long after World War IV, where a plague is flourishing and the alien Lunar people are a looming threat, but also in a time where culture and technology are thriving and world peace has been present for some time. This is a universe of ID chips and hovercrafts and global unity so, in a way, it's kind of a utopian dystopia.

Meyer also creates one of the most unique protagonists I've read. Cinder combines all of the great quali

I finally read this BOOK! After it being in my bookshelf for like, a month... I finally read it! Why the delay do you ask? Cyborgs? Aliens? Space? Not things that I look in books. Nonetheless, I'm happy I picked it up! It was really GOOD! (surprisingly). Cinder is basically the super, time machined, advanced version of Cinderella. Okay... So when I first heard about Cinder I was like what? Cinderella as a cyborg? Excuse me, can you repeat that?

I'll be truthful... I was very hesitant before reading this book, so many times I picked the book off my shelf and then put it back. I do love a book that has a fairy tale twist but surely a robot Cinderella was a bit much? But no! I didn't think so.

This was sooo Amazing!!! I loved every page of this book!

I haven't read a lot of sci-fiction, but this book makes me want to read more of that genre. I loved the whole retelling of Cinderella. I was soo not expecting that end.
I loved Cinder, Kai, Peony, Iko, and Dr. Erland, the whole book, the story, everything.
I couldn't and didn't wanted to stop reading! The whole world that Marissa created was incredible.
Simply put this book deserves more that 5 stars

I recommend it to EVERYONE.

A great futuristic adaption of Cinderella. Cinder, a Lunar cyborg mechanic, can take care of herself and win the admiration of the prince without the aid of a fairy godmother.
