What Members Thought

Having just finished up Cress literally five minutes ago, I thought now would be a good time to write my full review of Cinder. I had picked up Cinder simply because I had heard a lot of buzz about it on Goodreads. I wasn't completely moved by the plot summary but I figured why not give it a try?
I am so glad I did! I love the character of Cinder so much. I am a huge science fiction fan and I am also a huge fairy tale fan, you see why this book series is perfect for me. I loved the idea of Kai a ...more

first time review:(read from june 6-9 2014)
I couldn't stop reading. It was that good.
It was so much better than I expected it to be. It's definitely a new favorite. And now I'm going to read scarlet I don't care that I have exams. I just need to read it.
Reread: november 12-18 2015

Oddly enough the book I recommend most right now is Cinder, where Cinderella is a cyborg. Seriously that’s the plot, but it’s a good book honest.
The market is flooded with fairy tale retellings, and I almost didn’t read Cinder, but it looked popular (and I found it on sale for $2) so I decided to give it a shot and I’m glad that I did.
Cinder is set after the fourth world war, where the world is divided into six kingdoms. Cinder lives in the capital of New Beijing. Cinder is a mechanic working i ...more

Cinder was so good! The reason that I couldn't give it 5 stars was because it took a little while to pick up. I felt at the beginning it still felt a little cliche, but that was only because it was still setting up for the end. I have a good feeling about the rest of the series! I think the rest of the series will be 5 stars. I loved the characters and am looking forward to the rest of the series! ...more

Cinder is a futuristic re-envisioning of the classic story of Cinderella in which Cinder is a cyborg mechanic.
I absolutely fell in love with this book and wondered why I didn't read it sooner! This book is really different from the ones I'm used to reading. Most of the time, I only like to read books told in first POV present, but this book gave me a whole new perspective on that. When I first saw the book, I wasn't that interested in it since it's more futuristic with cyborgs and newer technolo ...more

This story is fine. I was hooked because all those who read this kinda predicted what would happen in the story. But I was amazed because despite that fact, it never got boring. I think this is not a retelling of Cinderella, this book is just inspires by that story. And I really liked the characters personalities. Wehn the character should be hated, you will. When the character should be loved, you will. They are not a bunch of immature people and Cinder's character reminds me of Anne Hathaway o
