A fun, easy read.

There's nothing special about the premise, or world, but it doesn't matter because it's told in such an entertaining way.

I do wish more time had been spent on the magic. (I love magic systems!) The magic lessons helped her so much but all she was really told was to wish hard and consentrate.

All of the characters, with the exception of the mean girls, were likable and well written. The romance felt very high school, which I guess is accurate. I didn't fall for him, but I apprec

Everything was so confusing, but still interesting. The storyline is good and the ways that Rachel developed the characters with was intense. It had a slow start and everything was explain towards the middle part - ending part of the book, but I guess that was kind-of the point?I'm a slow person - meaning I don't catch onto things fast - but even though this book started slow and was/still is confusing on some parts,I really enjoyed this book and was able to read through the whole thin

That book was awesome! I dropped this book a couple of times while reading it. I also accidentally slapped myself in the face a few times trying to cover my mouth with my hand in like a gasping pose. But I feel so bad for Sophie Mercer. Poor, hilarious Sophie Mercer. This book has many surprises that I NEVER saw coming! I respect you Rachel Hawkins, I really do. I cannot wait to read the next book! All I want to know is what's up with the cover? Can someone explain it to me?

This book I have probably read about six times and have loved every second. This book is own Sophie Mercer who on her 12th birthday discovered she was a witch. Three bumpy years later Sophie cast a spell which finally said that’s it. Sophie finds herself shipped off the Hecate Hall (nicknamed Hex Hall) a reformatory school for prodigium (fairies, werewolves, witches, ect.) An awkward, sarcastic girl, she deals with normal stuff by rejecting the popular girls, befriending the school`s outcast, an ...more

A school for all kinds of monsters, vampires, witches, fae....yep, everyone is there. And there's all kinds of drama from being new to the school, crushes, and girls hating each other! Plus, add in that the mystery aspect of people are mysteriously almost dying all the time, very interesting.

I will say the story is great for some light reading; I do enjoy the writing style of the author, fun to read.

Would recommend.

I liked the characters and the story line.It reminded me a little of Harry Potter but it wasn't just as epic. The humor was the best.
