This was a gasp,laugh and cry out loud book! Okay, it is a little like 'Fallen',or 'My name is Memory', but its less biblical and more mythical. I love the main character,Karou, and her friend Zuzana and i loveeeee Akiva!! He's just so beautiful,and smart,and sensitive but also he's a very serious,smart guy! It did not end well~~~
This is just the book I was looking for.It has everything!Awesome fantasy,romance,good humor & most importantly two strong protagonists.Karou is a beautiful blue haired girl with dark secrets.Akiva is an angel seeking revenge...It did not take me much time to fall in love with them.Even the supporting characters like Zuzana,Kaz,Brimstone had their own charms.I can't wait to put my hands on the next book of the trilogy :D ...more

Excellent beginning. Loved the world building and the characters. However, unfortunately, I did not like the second half of this book which heavily revolved around romance.
I was just so disappointed because like I said, the first half WAS SO DAMN GOOD. SO GOOD.

I thought I was going to end up giving this book a three star, but once I've reached around page 300, everything got so good!
