''In general, Karou managed to keep her two lives in balance. On the one hand, she was a seventeen-year-old art stude...more
Okay. I admit that books like these aren't what I'd typically read(or listen to) on impulse but, for once I'm glad I did.
THINGS THAT CONTRIBUTED IN MAKING ME GRAB THIS BOOK:
1)The cover. Which you have to admit is pretty awesome.
2)The title. When I read it I was immensely curious. I mean; "Daughter of smoke and bone"? - what does it even want to convey? (Good for me I found out in the end =D)
3)Everyone I know on goodreads loves it. That has to mean something. Right? 4)The final book came out th ...more

This was such an amazing first book in this series. I mean it, this was just plain fantastic!!!!! I really loved it. I saw some good reivews of it on Goodreads and then I saw the book at the library, so I decided to read it. I am so glad that I did. It was good and it was really unique and gave a new fresh part on angels and another different type of race. The plot was really good and put me on the edge of my seat up until the end. The cliffhangers and the switching of the points of views betwee

Let's see where to start. The book was good. I liked it. The beginning was kind of boring I couldn't get a feel of the characters. But I can say my favorite character is Zuzana. She is small but fierce and funny. "Oh, hell. Must. Mate. Immediately". In the words of Zuzana when she first meet Akiva. Was a lol moment for me. the book started to get really good when I discover Karou can fight and that she wasn't one of them damsel in distress types. but when I got towards the end the book went in t

This book was one of the few books I thought was simply amazing. Laini Taylor really has a wonderful imagination-I loved the world she built! The story was built beautifully, and the main character was unique. Blue hair, kick-ass, and a sense of humor? check.
The Plot:
Although there may not have been much adventure(if you don't count Karou going to different places to get teeth), as in moving from place to place, it was pretty fast-paced. Karou's discovering who she is and unraveling the secrets ...more

OMG this books is AWESOME!!!! It's been a while since I've read something like this~ You literally cannot put this down! I'm so glad I decided to give it a try and so excited for the sequel this Fall~! xD
I did not read any spoilers nor did I peek into the last pages, so I was really curious. The introduction was straightforward, but the shop had me captivated. The thought of having that secret, a special place that nobody knows and the mystery that surrounds it. I found myself deeply lost into ...more

It started off slow and hard for me to follow (the names - still have no idea if I'm pronouncing them correctly or not), but in the end I was crying so hard my throat hurt, and flipping pages like crazy. I bought this a long time ago and shouldn't have waited so long to read it.
