The plot was so rich and intense and I loved every minute of it, particularly as the story started to develop more. Karou and Akiva are some of the most interesting characters I've ever read about and their history was complicated but incredible. The supporting characters were really interesting to read about as well, particularly Brimstone and Issa. Hopefully a better review to come, but this book was amazing. I honestly wasn't expecting that plot twist and I absolutely loved it (non-spoiler). It was kinda hard to get used to cause I honestly grew to love Madrigal more than Karou. And then there's Akiva. Dear, dear Akiva. With Madrigal, I loved him. He was witty, attractive, looming and just had a great vibe I guess. With Karou, I mean I understand that after Madrigal he'd gone dead inside, but I hope that changes.
