Yup, still loved this one. The first book really was just a small solid foundation for this book and the rest of the series. I truly love how it gets built upon. There were some parts I forgot that I really enjoyed once more, and parts that stuck with me that still hit hard this time through. Truly, I adore this series.

Crown of Midnight's predecessor, Throne of Glass, really can't hold a flame to it. CoM is such a strong sequel. Maas stepped up her Yup, still loved this one. Reread 8/20/16 - 8/22/16

Crown of Midnight's predecessor, Throne of Glass, really can't hold a flame to it. CoM is such a strong sequel. Maas stepped up her game for this book, and delivered such a strong story that there were twists and turns that floored me, and I've read the book before! And one thing I've discovered is that every little thing is by design. Having read all of the currently printed books in the series I see so many tiny connections now that I never even thought to put together the first time.

This book has a bit of everything, betrayal, loyalty, a smidgen of romance, all around badassery, a bit of horror and plenty of action. It's a book you stay up until 4am to finish because there's just no possible way you can wait to find out what happens next. The characters are so much vivid and well-written in this book and you will find yourself incredibly invested in their lives, especially when all of their lines don't go how you expected and suddenly you're torn but still so in sync with them all.

Oh, and that ending *rubs hands together* what a crazy thing, and so well done that a part of me was still floored by what I knew was coming. The reread has proved again why I love this series so much and why it's one of my favorites.

This book was friggen incredible. I enjoyed the first book of this series but this book? I LOVED IT. Maas knows exactly how to manipulate me as a reader in every way, shape, and form. It was thrilling and interesting. I guessed so many things and go some right and some massively wrong and I loved every second of it. Even the parts where I was crying... A truly great read. ...more

Though his guts were twisting at the thought of her in this place, with these people, though he was considering every possible way to get himself and Celaena out of here alive, he gave the man a grin. "Then you're really in for a big surprise.”

In Crown of Midnight, Sarah J. Maas gives us a whole different kind of perspective, it's like this book has its own story, and it was the perfect sequel to Throne of Glass.
If I thought the 1st book was brilliant then wow, I was in for a big surprise because Crown of Midnight exceeded all my expectations. It was more than brilliant; it was THE most awesome and outstanding book I've read so far. No words.

"Why are you crying?"
"Because," she whispered, her voice shaking, "you remind me of what the world ought to be. What the world can be.”

While reading this book I laughed, cried and I screamed: screams of happiness and agony. I had my fair share of happy and heartbreaking moments in this book.

“He wouldn't let his servants change the sheets on his bed because they still smelled like her, because he went to sleep dreaming that she was still lying beside him.”

I came to a point where I was so heartbroken I had to stop reading for a while, literally. I didn't read for 5 days. 5 days. If a book gets to you like that, when you almost feel everyhting, just grab on to it, because you just found one of the books that will stick with you for ever.

My favorite part of Crown of Midnight:

“There had never been any line between them, only his own stupid fear and pride. Because from the moment he'd pulled her out of that mine in Endovier and she had set those eyes upon him, still fierce despite a year in hell, he'd been walking toward this, walking to her. So Chaol brushed away her tears, lifter her chin, and kissed her.”

The answers I got just blew me awyay. The ending left me speecheless. I need the next bok. NOW.

Slowly I'm being entangled into this web of intense plots and realistic to-die-for characters as the plot gradually transitions from the simplicity I thought it was going to be to the complicated mess it will become.

There's honestly no way for me to discuss any part of this book without spoiling some aspect of it, and every part of this book should be experienced firsthand. So if you haven't already done so, definitely give this book ...more

'Crown of Midnight' is the 2nd book in the 'Throne of Glass' series by Sarah J. Mass.

As much as I loved the first book in the series I hated every single moment of this one.

Actually I think the right thing to say is I had a love-hate relationship with the book.....I didn't hate it because of the writing, nope. The book was written brilliantly, and I actually applaud Sarah J. Mass for it.

The reason I hated it was cause even though I adore Celaenna and I feel she's a feisty main character who is 'Crown of Midnight' is the 2nd book in the 'Throne of Glass' series by Sarah J. Mass.

As much as I loved the first book in the series I hated every single moment of this one.

Actually I think the right thing to say is I had a love-hate relationship with the book.....I didn't hate it because of the writing, nope. The book was written brilliantly, and I actually applaud Sarah J. Mass for it.

The reason I hated it was cause even though I adore Celaenna and I feel she's a feisty main character who is more than just a pretty face. I couldn't help but think for an assassin she's a 'fool'. I mean why in the bloody world could she have trusted Archer.....and don't get me started on Chaol....I loved him in the first book but I hated him in this. I couldn't stand reading his character, for instance he kept making decisions for her. I also do not like their relationship (don't even get me started on that).....But I guess this is probably due to the fact that I love Daemon more. Even though I do sometimes feel Daemon is a coward.

I also didn't like the fact the story was too predictable. It's actually shocking to read some reviews where some claimed they weren't expecting what happened. Like I saw that coming before they even mentioned a lost princess. I had the same problem in the first book but I ignored it. (Eg Cain was the first person I suspected when the murders started).

The book brought out so many emotions....but it was mostly anger. So I guess the author did her job.

I could go on forever explaining how this book affected so I'm just going to stop.

So, instead of rambling on and on I'm just going to say I struggled with the rating....I was battling between giving it 3 or 4 stars. But I decided on giving it four stars because even though I hated every single minute and didn't like the fact that all my predictions were right I couldn't help but accept the fact that the book was written brilliantly and Sarah J Mass did her job in narrating the story.

But I will have to say I'm actually thinking of quitting the series all together cause It's more than I bargained for but since I already got the 3rd book in the series I might as well read it and decide what to do after that.

So off to read Heir of Fire.
