Una protagonista melodramática y quejica que culpa a otros de su suicidio. No me puedo poner en sus zapatos (afortunadamente), pero tampoco llegué a entenderla del todo. Sí, es duro, triste e injusto que sufriera de maltrato en su escuela; pero sus razones me parecieron muy débiles y estúpidas. Una lástima porque el argumento prometía.

This is a tricky book...
Not in the sense that it's difficult to read, or the plot has so many twists and turns the ending literally comes out of nowhere...but emotionally, morally, and mentally tricky.This isn't the first review about it, and I doubt it'll be the last.

Thirteen Reasons Why is a book about why Hannah Baker killed herself. The Thirteen Reasons are thirteen people who in one way or another affected Hannah in some way that lead to her death. Clay Jensen is part of that list. If he d This is a tricky book...

Thirteen Reasons Why is a book about why Hannah Baker killed herself. The Thirteen Reasons are thirteen people who in one way or another affected Hannah in some way that lead to her death. Clay Jensen is part of that list. If he doesn't pass the cassette tapes containing all Hannah's reasons why, then a second set will be released in a public manner, and no one wants their dirty deeds displayed for everyone to see. Or hear.

I suppose, morally speaking, I'm opposed to the idea of suicide, and that there is always something that could pull you back to the surface of the black void of despair that Hannah seemed to face. In the book, Hannah even tells the reader and Clay that she COULD have pulled out when she had the chance, but after all she'd been through, she didn't take it. While I'm not opposed to a sad story, because there is no happiness with sadness, but still...this was a sort of light at the end of the tunnel story...except it wasn't Hannah's tunnel...it was more Clay's.

Mentally, when putting together all the incidents that drove Hannah over the edge made sense more than any ONE part of the sequence of events that Clay unravels. I also found it a particularly good twist of Jay Asher's to develop Tony's role in this book (view spoiler)

Reaching the end of this book definitely made me appreciate all the more that what could seem small to you, may not be so to another...What may be positive to you might be negative to someone else.
It definitely sends the message that every act, good or bad, can make a big impact. ...more

Suicide. It’s in the news, in the papers, have support groups, everyone wants to help its victims. Everyone cries at your funeral, saying how close they are to you and that you were such a great person. Yet you only get this happens if your suicide attempted work. If not then you’re an attention whore, emo, stupid, and all the other nasty words in our language. So suicide is a damn if do, damn it you don’t kind of thing. Lucky for Hanna it does not bother her anymore.
