The story is set during World War II in a small town near Munich, Molching. From the narrator's point of view, we read the story of a foster girl, Liesel Meminger who can't resist stealing her obsession- books. The Book Thief follows the life of Liesel and all the encounters that she has while growing up in Nazi Germany.

I didint like this book but I greatly appreciated it it was an extremely powerful book if I could use one word for it, it would be powerful did I like diesel? I laughed, cried, groaned, laughed, and cried some more all through out this book. At one point I woke up my sister with my giggles and sobs from across the house. (Now I'm just crying because Zusack hasn't released a book in forever!!!!!)
I don't see how anyone can complain about this book. It is a bit cynical but it is talking about Nazi Germany, not rainbows and unicorns. The point of view is really unique and all the characters are wonderful (-ly developed, I mean, not a great person I would
