Ok, I admit it, Sara Humphreys could make rocks and fallen trees sexy.. I am the first to say I don't enjoy the "traditional" Vampire stories. You know with sires and covens, makers and such. But a good author can destroy all preconceptions. Vampire Trouble is book two in her Dead in the City ( also known as Vampires in NYC) Series. In book one, Tall, Dark and Vampire, I tumbled into love and in book two, Vampire Trouble, I just kept falling.

Fast paced and full of action, love and humour, this book never has a dull moment and I was soon so caught up in the story that it was difficult to put the book down in order to sleep. The world building and descriptive nature brings it all to life so vividly, that my imagination easily took over and I could see the story in my mind clearly as it all unfolded.
The chemistry between Shane and Maya is so evident, and I loved reading about them both overcoming their issues and realising that they w

Sara has asked for an honest review through NetGalley.
Well,Sara's books just keep getting better and better. There are 320 pages to this story but it reads like a novella and ends too soon. Maya has lost her past. Olivia turned her and helps as much as she can. Shane has been turned for 400 years and they are thrown when they meet in the Dreamscape. It takes them awhile to fit and then the Wolves plan trouble while the leaders are together at a meeting. There are some pretty deep actions and sce

Vampires, Weres... from New York City to the Louisiana Bayou! Oh My!

VAMPIRE TROUBLE by Sara Humphreys in a very enjoyable, spicy paranormal romance! It is the second book in her Dead in the City series. It can easily be read as a standalone as Sara fills in everything you need to know to enjoy it by itself. However, I would recommend reading the series in order as there are interconnected characters and Dead in the City #1, TALL, DARK and VAMPIRE, was such a fantastic read also!

I read Vampire Trouble by Sara Humphreys recently and well she's done it again! This is Maya & Shane's story we met them in the first book. I will admit I was not sure how I felt about Maya. She seemed selfish. But I got to know Maya, she is so much more. She is a kickass warrior,a sister to her coven members and more. As always when you read any of Sara's books. She takes you on a journey. I loved reading Maya and Shane's story. There are interesting developments that keep you turning the pages. ...more

I was a little worried about this story when I found out this was Maya's story. In the first Dead in the City book I thought she was a brat. But oh my goodness! This book was great. Maya was not what I expected. She turned out to be a total badass. And Shane knew exactly what she needed to fight her demons and find herself. I loved this story. It had great action and an even greater romance. I really liked seeing characters from previous books by Sara Humphreys as well. It was really nice to cat ...more

This was a fantastic continuation from Tall, Dark, and Vampire. I was very happy to read Maya's and Shane's story and the introduction to new characters was flawless on the author's part.
And of course, now I'm drumming my fingers on the desk waiting patiently *ha* for the next in the series!

*to get the most out of each story, please consider reading them in order*
