What a wonderful story! This book encouraged me to think about my own thoughts on the subject and how I would react if this were to happen to my daughter(s). The characters were very realistic, and the story well-told. This author never lets me down!
I was thoroughly invested in this novel from the very first page. An intriguing story about a pregnancy pact made more interesting by involving smart, responsible girls including the high school principal's daughter. Told mostly in Susan's POV, the brief interludes of the other mothers' and daughters' thoughts don't feel like interruptions. The relationships and personal conflicts felt real. I always enjoy Barbara Delinsky books. She touches on real-life issues for women and shows their vulnerability as well as their strengths.
Such a relevant book today. Teenage pregnancy pacts have been occurring all over the nation and this book looks into one of those pacts. It focuses mainly on the how the families of these girls are affected. I liked how you get to see various reactions to the pact, all quite realistic.
