AMAZING!! Keeper shelf material for sure!!! The beginning is informative and enlightens you to things you need to know for later in the book. After chapter 4 the book really takes off and makes grab on with both hands!! It gives you a Lord of the Rings, House of Night , Shark boy and Lava girl feel with the goblins, gremlins, fairies, scary bad guys, and so much more!! The description in this book is fantastic!! I really enjoyed this book. It kept me interested the whole way through and I am really looking forward to reading the next installment.

Scapemaker is a young adult fantasy novel that follows Matthew into an exciting new world – of dreams. This book puts me in mind of Harry Potter – a hidden school amongst the real world, mystery, adventure, and unusual characters and abilities. However, this is not a wizard-type book. This story takes place within the dream realm (and the real world.) Those who can cross over to the dream world consciously are known as dreamscapers, and Scapemaker is the school where Matthew ends up attending.

What a wonderful read. It starts a bit slow, which is needed to build out the setting/characters. Watch out - it becomes a real page turner. I couldn't put it down- and when I finished I was checking to see when the next book comes out.
Steve brings into the book some new paranormal types (at least for me), and it's fun seeing how these young people learn to adapt to their new abilities. Matthew, the main character in this book, learns a great deal about his dad and realizes that the future he ha ...more

The story takes hold of your mind and gently pulls you into a whole new world. Written eloquently without too much information to distract you, the author paints every scene with grace and intrigue. Well thought out locations and fleshed out characters keep the pages turning. Well worth the read.
