Shelves: adventure, fantasy, mystery

I found the overall concept of the book interesting however I found it very similar to a children's series I saw on television when I was younger called jeopardy. However instead of disappearing at 15 their eyes turned red and they disappeared however as the story progressed the storylines did take different routes although the idea od jeopardy was always at the back of my head.

If Stephen King wrote a book for teens and tweens, this would be it! I'm typically not a big readier of YA fiction, but this was a monthly selection for one of my book clubs, so I gave it a shot. Initially, I thought that it was going to be a rip-off of King's Under the Dome, but then realized it was written a year earlier. Fast-paced tale with a hefty dose of creepiness. Will definitely read the next in the series. ...more
